Team Why Knot: A collective voice for the recreational angler - Protecting the environment, fisheries and the future of sport fishing
There are many stakeholders in the fisheries management process. The biggest challenge currently facing the industry is varying agendas. Residents, anglers and landowners alike need to align their values in order to prevail towards successful achievement of a common goal. Proper scientifically-supported regulations need to be in place and the general public attitude towards them needs to be positive.
Our natural resources are worth putting in the time, thought and effort to defend
Team Why Knot is vital to the conservation effort
As evident with our #TakeAKidFishing (hyperlinked to our #TAKF page) Initiative, fishing can be a powerful part of many lives. By protecting the habitats where fish live and breed, along with practicing Catch and Release to slow the rate of stock size shrinkage, we will be able to preserve healthy sport fisheries for generations. As WKF Captain Jeff Lomonabro promotes “there is a joy created from seeing a fish swim away, and minimizing your impact [as an angler]”. Team Why Knot members have a duty. Operating as an ambassador for the generations committed to conservation, we stand for a set of values and represent them every time they approach the water.
